Michael Phelps Team USA win 2016 Summer Olympics RIO

RIO DE JANEIRO — Michael Phelps is golden again.

The most-decorated Olympian of all time added to his record medal haul with yet another gold on Sunday as the U.S. pulled away to win the 4×100-meter freestyle relay. It’s Phelps’ 19th gold medal and 23rd overall.

Swimming the second leg, Phelps teamed with Caeleb Dressel, Anthony Ervin and anchor Nathan Adrian to land the gold medal with a time of 3:09:92. The Americans were widely considered underdogs to Australia but ended up leading nearly the entire race and closed strong on the strength of Adrian. France outpaced Australia as well to win silver with a time of 3:10:53. The Aussies rounded out the top three at 3:11:37.
